Bit by bit

An information-based community

McGill University, Montreal, Winter 2020

This project sought to expand design beyond that of a fixed composition. Considering an architecture which has multiple possible states and which shifts constantly between them, we aimed to develop an sensemble structured around information, a non- static medium. The research methodology firstly included precedent studies, scoring exercises, programming a game-instrument in order to fabric an architectural organization designed and built around informationThe final outcome is a model living unit that presents speculations on a new way of living, afforded by a non-static domestic space, where human and non-human enact unpredictable choreographies. The guide presented below was created to reconcile all our processes and findings in a playful and instructive fashion, for all.
