A simulacrum of a simulacrum

The artefact was meant as an interactive and playful object that mimicks the search for truth inside Borges’ Library of Babel. It was therefore decided to use the basic structure of the library, namely a combination of hexagonal galleries, as the organizing principal of the artefact, which takes form in a series of hexagonal leaflets, tied together according to an obscure logic. Just like the library, the artefact folds and unfolds, in a seemingly endless number of ways, that invite the user to stop, try again, look inside every leaflet, in search of a structuring principle. The visual and litterary content of the artefact appears to be eratic, yet every hexagon, be it its outward or inward faces have a carefully crafted logic, which the user, just like the avid inhabitants of the library, hope to crack.
